Peax Launches a New Observability Business Unit Led by Peretz Shamir
Peax Group, formerly known as E.M.T Computing, is expanding its activity in the field of enterprise IT monitoring and is launching a new business unit called Peax Observability. The unit will operate within the Group’s Data Division and focus on the design, implementation, and optimization of monitoring and observability solutions for large enterprises and financial institutions.
The new unit will be led by Peretz Shamir, founder of the Israeli company Monitoring Tech and the UK-based company The Monitoring Shop. Shamir spent many years in London specializing in IT monitoring and led projects for major financial institutions, including Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, and HSBC.
In recent years, the observability market has evolved far beyond traditional monitoring of server, network, and application availability. The objective is to collect and analyze data across multiple layers of the IT environment, including infrastructure, applications, logs, performance metrics, and user experience, and identify the relationship between technology events, the services delivered to users, and the business processes they support.
This challenge has become increasingly complex as organizations adopt cloud-native and hybrid architectures, where modern platforms operate alongside legacy systems. As a result, a service disruption or performance degradation may stem from multiple interconnected components, even when the monitoring tools associated with each individual system do not indicate a problem.
Peax intends to focus specifically on this gap. Rather than relying solely on technical indicators such as availability, resource utilization, and response times, the new unit will seek to connect them to business metrics such as transaction completion rates, digital service adoption, and customer journey abandonment. The goal is to enable IT teams not only to identify where an issue occurred, but also to understand which services and business processes were affected.
“Organizations today invest millions of dollars in data management, monitoring, and operations platforms, yet often struggle to translate the information these systems generate into measurable business value,” said Yael Rubinstein, CEO of Peax Data. According to Rubinstein, the new activity is designed to bridge the gap between the Group’s analytics and infrastructure capabilities and the monitoring of application performance and user experience.
According to Shamir, one of the key challenges organizations face is the growing number of information and monitoring systems within the enterprise.
“Organizations have more data than ever before, yet it is becoming increasingly difficult for them to tell the business story through their systems,” he said.
He added that the new unit aims to help technology teams connect the metrics they collect to their impact on sales, service quality, and customer experience.
Peax, which is publicly traded on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange, operated until recently under the name E.M.T Computing. The Group specializes in IT infrastructure, software, data, cybersecurity, and AI, and comprises more than 20 subsidiaries. According to the company, it employs approximately 1,700 people and provides services to around 1,500 organizations across Israel, including banks, insurance companies, government agencies, defense organizations, and high-tech companies.
